V-eekly Update - V is for Volunteer

Updated: May 7

Hello my V-eeple!!

This week, I am focusing on connecting with volunteers! Hopefully, if you are reading this you are a supporter of my re-election campaign :) I believe I have shown Johnson County residents that I have the professional background, experience, vision, and values to lead our county for another term (and beyond).

One thing that I have found while knocking doors and talking with residents in District 4 is that many people may know that there are new districts, but they don't realize that Rod and I have to run against each other. In fact, I had a resident tell me to just put my sign out next to Rod's! I quickly explained the dilemma with that and she was upset that the state made such a ridiculous law, which is often what I hear and I couldn't agree more!

As we know, this is an election that will determine who will sit in this seat through the remainder of the Trump Administration and I know I have the skill set and courage to stand up to authoritarianism. It is a heavy lift to not only run against a 20-year incumbent who is also a Democrat, but then to also explain these districts and what that means.

That said, I need your help! Here is the Three with V this week:

  1. VOLUNTEER. If you would like to spend time knocking on doors and connecting with folx about my campaign or feel more comfortable talking on the phone, please sign up! And if you're more of an introvert, but want to help me get the word out, sign up and we will get you into our Social Media Network of Supporters- this group is essential to creating more visibility for me. Sign up and we will tell you more! https://www.vfo4joco.com/volunteer

  2. ENDORSEMENTS. You are a reflection of me; and our shared values of Compassion, Honesty, and Courage are exactly why I am turning to everyday community members and asking for endorsements. Rod may have former mayors and state representatives endorsing him, but I know that in addition to our elected officials, we have everyday heroes that make our community vibrant and connected. Please submit an endorsement for me here: https://www.vfo4joco.com/endorsement

  3. LETTER TO THE EDITOR. There is nothing like a personalized letter to the editor that really expresses to the community why you are supporting me. These are usually 250 words and are an opportunity to reach different audiences that may not be on social media. We have a one-pager that provides an outline and some tips, and if you need more resources we can send you some examples. Please submit a Letter to the Editor here and it will automatically be sent to the local media: (e.g. Little Village and Daily Iowan) https://www.vfo4joco.com/letter-to-the-editor

I cannot express enough gratitude to everyone for helping me. It is truly and honor to serve!!
