This election season has felt more and more like a national-scale political race. And I mean that in the best ways- Thank you to Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Sarah McBride for their incredible endorsements!!! And in hard ways- the negative responses and accusations flying around have not only been heavy on my heart but also frightening. I received a death threat on my personal cell phone last week and am appreciative to our Sheriff's office for their investigative response and heightened security watch on our neighborhood. Sadly, it underscores the reality of our local and national politics that as a transgender/BIPOC/queer leader, I am as much of a target as I am a beacon, and this race has tested that fact more than I would like.
June 2nd is just around the corner- so we are in full GOTV (Get Out The Vote!) mode!!!
