I'm proud to endorse V Fixmer Oriaz for Johnson County Board of Supervisors. I've had the privilege of being in community with V for a decade of systems change work, professional trainings, and hard policy conversations where real trust gets built. What strikes me most is how V listens and truly sees people, and that deep understanding drives smart, grounded decision-making.
V has led big, complicated work building toward a more sustainable food and farming future, holding together many voices, competing interests, and bold long-term vision all at once. They understand that farmer business viability and community food access are not competing priorities. They are part of the same fight. That might sound obvious, but V has the rare ability to walk into a room where people are dug into opposite sides and reframe the whole conversation. They challenge the false choices we've been handed and find the solutions hiding in the space between. That kind of rigorous, creative, and deeply human thinking is exactly what Johnson County deserves.
V fights for a world we all deserve, even when the systems around us make it hard to believe that world is possible. They carry that vision steadily, even when the rest of us struggle to hold it. They know what it means to navigate a world that doesn't always make room for everyone, and they fight for all of us with the conviction that when we all do better, we all do better. That's the strategic, grounded voice we need in the room where decisions get made. Vote V!
